We've named our initial sound-form shapes
Fluidicity and Holi Smoke

The shapes come from our research on how
sound travels through 3-dimensional space.

Curious to see some of our
finished sound-forms?
Please take a look at our gallery.

Fluidicity is our original "raw" shape, capturing your sound's energy.
What we have revealed is amazing, a work of art that looks as organic as
an exotic botanical or ink moving through water.

Holi Smoke takes the raw shape and suspends it for an instant,
while we "toss" brilliantly-colored powdered paint at it, coating it in mid-air to make it visible.
Our inspiration was the ancient Indian festival of Holi (the Festival of Colors), which heralds the arrival of spring.

Each sound-form shape
Fluidicity and Holi Smoke

has its own color palette. Each color scheme in the palette includes
subtle variations of highlights and shadows, representing the sound's
movement and interaction with the atmosphere around it.
(In short: The "color scheme" is not a single solid color.)

Special color matches are also available as a special order.

You can order a Color Swatch Set for either shape,
printed on canvas and photo paper.

We will credit the price of the Color Swatch Set(s)
toward your sound-form order.

The Fluidicity Basic Palette includes a variety of color schemes, plus black-and-white.
White is stunning on black; black on white reminds us of 'liquid text' on a page.

The Holi Smoke Basic Palette includes a variety of color and background
combinations, plus black-and-white. On a white background, Holi Smoke
includes a faint shadow of the sound, illustrating its movement through 3-D space.

Mounting options: Canvas

Each sound-form takes hours of hand craftsmanship made in our studios in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We use the highest quality High Definition archival inks available and we print on museum-quality matte canvas and then apply a UV and scratch protective varnish.

We offer "gallery mounting," wrapping your canvas onto premium 1-½" thick wooden stretcher bars. A gallery-mounted sound-form is ready to display upon receipt.

If you prefer to order your sound-form unmounted, we will ship it to you flat, ready to be stretched.

Mounting options: Paper

Each sound-form takes hours of hand craftsmanship made in our studios in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We use the highest quality High Definition archival inks available and we print on premium archival photographic paper with a gloss finish.

We offer "museum mounting", adhering your sound-form to a sheet of thick acrylic with a UV-protective laminate, with a durable backing. We include a 1 ½" spacer block that floats the artwork away from the wall and allows light to infuse. A cleat is provided with the sound-form to provide secure hanging.

We do not offer framing at this time, but you can order your sound-form unmounted and we will ship it rolled inside a tube, ready to be framed.

We can reveal any sound, expressing the moment where it hangs in the air, as a beautiful shape printed in rich color ready to be displayed.
We invite you to look at some final sound-forms, listen to the recordings, and read about the people who recorded them.
Now it's your turn: create your own sound-form.
